The short answer
- Choose ChatGPT Business if your teams want one tool for a wide range of everyday tasks, including images and voice, and you want the largest ecosystem of apps and custom GPTs.
- Choose Claude Team if your work is heavy on long documents, careful writing, analysis or building internal tools, and you want Claude available with in-country processing in India.
- Run both if different teams have different needs. Many of our clients give most staff one tool and a smaller group the other.

Where each one tends to shine
These are patterns from our workshops and deployments, not lab benchmarks. Test them on your own tasks.
ChatGPT works well as an all-round assistant. Teams use it for quick research, drafting, images for presentations and voice conversations on the move. Its directory of apps and shared custom GPTs makes it easy to spread a good workflow across a company.
Claude works well on long, careful work. Teams use it to read and compare long reports, write in a consistent house style, analyse data files and build small internal tools. Projects keep a team's reference documents in one place, so answers stay grounded in your material.
Both now handle documents, spreadsheets, web search and connected company data. The gap between them on everyday tasks is smaller than most comparison articles suggest.
How to choose in two weeks
- Pick five real tasks from two or three teams, such as a sales review summary, a policy question, a research brief or a data analysis.
- Run each task in both tools with the same inputs and the same reviewer.
- Score the outputs on accuracy, how much editing they needed and time taken.
- Check the fit with your admin, security and procurement needs.
- Decide by team, not company-wide, if the results differ.
We run this bake-off for clients as part of AI consulting, and the result is usually clearer than the debate before it.
Why the choice matters less than the rollout
Whichever tool you pick, the value comes from people changing how they do recurring work. In our programmes, teams that rebuild one weekly task with AI keep using it; teams that only get licences drift back to old habits.
